Influenced by both Andy Warhol and Victorian era hand colored prints.

Ewen's latest iteration of Staffordshire dogs, a theme that has resurfaced in Ewen's work time and time again over the last 30 years. These are baroque, kitsch, delovely valentines for the tender-hearted. Putti Staffordshires. Cupid as a dog.

To create these original mixed media works, artist Anne-Louise Ewen first creates the black and white printed image (in this case, the pair of Staffordshire dogs) using a hand drawn silk screen. She then paints each individually to create unique, one of a kind paintings on paper.
